Rochester-Genesee Regional Transit Authority's (RGRTA) Transit Center is being built through a design-build contract in Downtown Rochester. TRC was selected to provide the multi-hazard risk assessment, design reviews of the physical and electronic security systems, and emergency management planning for this new transit facility. This work is being coordinated with the Rochester Police and Fire Departments, the Monroe County Sheriff, Monroe County Emergency Management Agency, the New York State Police and the Regional Transit Security Working Group. The following is a list of key project task deliverables prepared for the RGRTA:
Upon completion of the initial work, TRC was awarded a contract extension to develop an HSEEP-compliant exercises intended to integrate the new Transit Center into the regional emergency response community. TRC is working with RGRTA and the Monroe County Emergency Management Agency to develop and deliver a building block approach training and exercise program that improves regional understanding and coordination; familiarizes first responders with the new facility, and validates RGRTA’s new security and emergency management plans and procedures.
