SoCore Energy is developing over 14 sites in Wisconsin and Iowa in a short time frame to put renewable energy onto the grid. They were faced with an expedited siting and permitting schedule to meet delivery requirements. TRC has met the client’s needs utilizing the strong experience and expertise of local staff.
TRC assisted site selection by screening multiple sites for wetlands, cultural resources and threatened and endangered species to avoid adverse impacts and expedite permitting. From this large list, the client narrowed the sites down to top prospects. As one of the first large ground-mounted solar farms initiatives in Wisconsin, TRC assisted the client in explaining solar project impacts to regulators. We provided innovative strategies to satisfy agency requirements.
Following site selection, TRC provided geotechnical testing, engineering and reporting, ALTA and topographical survey and permitting services. We delineated wetlands and confirmed absence of the endangered Karner blue butterfly habitat. TRC provided input into revegation of the sites into “pollinator gardens.” Phase I Environmental Site Assessments were completed as were stormwater pollution prevention plans and wetland permitting.
