TRC supported a large-cap private equity firm in the acquisition of a platform company in the tubular steel pipe industry, followed by five additional acquisitions to support the client’s Buy-and-Build strategy, resulting in the development of a major steel pipe manufacturing corporation with locations across North America.
Post-acquisition, TRC assisted corporate management with the development of a comprehensive 100-day Business Integration, resulting in a uniform compliance and regulatory response program throughout the process. As part of TRC’s effort, environmental risks and opportunities were quantified and prioritized.
Among the recommended activities were the closure and decommissioning of operating mills, for which TRC provided project management to the parent company. TRC provided risk definition and strategic guidance throughout the transaction. With TRC’s understanding of the lifecycle of the investment, TRC brought appropriate and knowledgeable resources to the client to support their investment strategy through: acquisition (target bolt-on); sale of non-core assets; and closure of non-performing facilities.
TRC’s analysis supported the client’s risk management and asset management strategies. TRC was a key advisor to the senior management of the portfolio companies and their Board.
With TRC’s support, the client maximized its return on its environmental investment.
