TRC encourages students to apply for entry-level jobs. Here are some tips from our team on how to make a good impression. Before the Interview:
- Do your homework. Be sure to read information on the company website, articles and news releases, financial information, etc.
- Go online and see what you can learn about the people you will be meeting.
- Be familiar with the job description and know what the position requires.
- Always prepare a list of questions to ask the interviewer. You will want to know about roles, responsibilities, expectations, and career path opportunities.
- Be sure to take several copies of your resume to the interview.
- Be sure to know the exact location of the interview and the time it takes to get there.
After the Interview:
- Be sure to send a thank you via email or letter to all those with whom you interviewed reiterating why you are a good fit for the position. If you met with multiple people, be sure to personalize your letters to each individual. Email the hiring manager or recruiter for a status update if you do not receive notification after one to two weeks.
